About the Author
Scott Walters spent twenty years as a U.S. Navy officer and naval flight officer, flying in both the F-14 Tomcat and the F/A-18F Super Hornet before graduating from and later instructing at TOPGUN. He earned a degree in mathematics, studied theology at Dallas Theological Seminary, and has spent much of his life moving between worlds that do not always speak the same language—science and faith, evidence and belief, the cockpit and the classroom.
He has also taken the long road home.
That road has included extraordinary opportunities, failure, loss, wandering, and questions that became considerably less academic when they became his own. Nowhere Else to Go grew from that journey and from the discipline of the TOPGUN debrief: start with the facts, test the assumptions, follow the evidence, and learn from what remains.
The 112 Mission
I would not be alive today apart from the grace of God. And I might not be alive had God not placed a puppy in my life just weeks before I finally understood how desperately I needed Him—and how much I needed him.
His name was Vito.
The 112 Mission is my way of carrying that grace forward. Eleven-point-two percent of proceeds from my books and speaking engagements will support Retrieving Freedom, Inc. and its work training and placing service dogs with disabled veterans and autistic children, at no cost to the recipient.
The mission is named in memory of two great friends—Sherm and Vito.

The book had to end somewhere. The conversations and questions never did.
